NEC will demonstrate its latest enterprise and SMB communications solutions with focus on voice, data and video technologies over converged networks, using desktop and mobile endpoints for real-time Unified Communications and Collaborative working.

 

On show will be the latest release of Business ConneCT, the versatile all-in-one UC suite that integrates mobile workers within a company’s network. Simple and cost-effective, its 3 modes – employee, operator and contact center – use the same server, a single database and a common user interface, all managed from a central point. Combined with mobility, messaging, presence management and multi-party audio/video/web collaboration, Business ConneCT enables screen & file sharing and co-browsing across PCs, iMacs, smartphones and tablets.

 

Taking advantage of Software Assurance, NEC’s subscription and support programme, customers receive all available software updates / service packs and upgrades for an all-inclusive subscription fee and can upgrade their installations smoothly and securely.

 

GITEX also marks NEC’s official launch of UNIVERGE 3C to the region. This software suite saves time, makes devices more efficient and increase productivity by delivering essential UC&C tools to business users such as Instant Meetings, Instant Messaging, Web Collaboration, Presence and Application Sharing for virtually any device and adapting to a wide variety of business requirements. Designed to work seamlessly with data centres and cloud environments, UNIVERGE 3C aligns with enterprise IT strategies to virtualise business communication and collaboration services.

 

NEC will also present advanced IP communications servers for smaller enterprises with capacities ranging from 2 to 500 ports. NEC's UNIVERGE SL1000 and SV8100 offer SMBs convenient features and services including presence, instant messaging (IM), conference, video call, automatic call distribution, voice mailing, CTI, VoIP, networking and wireless.

Empowering the workforce with true mobility across your organization

NEC’s mobility solutions provide office workers, teleworkers and mobile workers excellent wireless communications. NEC’s new G266 & G566 handsets expand on proven DECT technology and take full advantage of CAT-iq, UC functionality and extensive messaging. Visitors can also experience Fixed Mobile Convergence, that makes a smartphone a true extension of an IP PBX and adds mobile UC functionality such as presence.

 

For Hospitality and Healthcare sectors NEC will demonstrate integrated applications incl.:

- MobiCall Text and Alarm messaging to alert staff.

- Ekahau Location Detection to locate people and assets. 

Desktop Virtualization for a Smart & Secure Virtual Workplace

NEC will present its latest Virtual PC Center (VPCC), the only full turnkey virtual desktop solution with integrated software and hardware management. VPCC adds ease and flexibility to work styles. VPCCs reside on servers while the users have no storage and simply provide the user-interface. This allows users to securely access their working environment from any available terminal. NEC’s SigmaSystemCenter and Client Management Option deliver extensive management functions including configuration, monitoring, dynamic resources allocations that are quick and easy to perform.

 

High Availability and Smart EcoCenter Solutions

Using NEC’s Fault Tolerant Express5800/R320c server to host VPCC management guarantees an availability of 99,999 %, less than 5 minutes of unplanned interruption per year, through its fully redundant modular hardware featuring 8-Core Intel® Xeon® processors, as sixth generation FT server technology for Intel. The optional EXPRESSCLUSTER X SingleServerSafe enhances software high availability.

The NEC Smart EcoCenter is a scalable high density server with four dual-socket nodes in 2U enclosure. The Express5800/E120d-M supports operations in a 40º Celsius environment, via NEC’s optimized cooling technology and intelligent fan control minimize power consumption.

Security solutions for Safer Cities

NEC has a proven track record in public safety. Over the last three decades, NEC has installed the world’s fastest and most accurate biometric identification systems for more than 480 customers in over 30 countries. At GITEX, NEC will also show Intelligent Video Surveillance Solutions using Meta data analysis. Video monitoring systems combined with image analysis technology improve efficiency and functionality of safety and security services, efficiently.

 

NEC will also show facial recognition and fingerprint identification technology with the world’s No.1 accuracy rate of more than 99.9%. The technologies are applicable for e.g. criminal identification, e-passport and national/state ID systems. Thanks to its high speed processing and accuracy, it enables real-time identification of people in video footage.

 

Display and Signage solutions on show
In the area of Display Technology NEC will show a range of innovative solutions for Control Room and Retail Signage applications as well as tailored display solutions for the Aviation, Retail and Education segments.
