Heidelberg, Germany, 26^th March, 2019 – With its long-standing experience in major European projects, NEC Laboratories Europe will be in charge of demonstration cases of the CyberSec4Europe initiative, announced on 26th February 2019 by the European Commission.

CyberSec4Europe is an EU pilot for a pan-European cybersecurity competence network that will test and demonstrate potential secure governance structures. CyberSec4Europe will address key EU directives and regulations, such as the GDPR, PSD2, eIDAS, and ePrivacy, and help to implement the EU Cybersecurity Act and to secure the digital economy, infrastructures, society, and democracy.

To achieve this, CyberSec4Europe will bring together Europe’s leading research centers working on cutting-edge security technologies including Blockchain and Trusted Execution Environments. CyberSec4Europe will demonstrate the application of these technologies with a set of demonstration cases of cyber security solutions in finance, smart cities, healthcare and transport. CyberSec4Europe brings together 43 participants from 22 EU member states and associated countries.

NEC leads the CyberSec4Europe work demonstration cases and contributes its leading Blockchain and platform security technologies. Dr. Jürgen Quittek, Managing Director of NEC Laboratories Europe commented, “NEC has conducted research on Blockchain and platform security for many years.
