Tokyo, February 24, 2016 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced its participation at IT-TRANS 2016, one of the world’s premier events for demonstrating IT solutions in the public transport industry, from March 1-3, 2016 at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Center, Karlsruhe, Germany. At the event, NEC will showcase public transport solutions that support service delivery and customer experience improvements.

Recent years have seen an increasing focus within the industry on delivering a better customer experience for passengers. This year at IT-Trans, NEC will be exhibiting new eco-friendly PIS (Passenger Information System) E-paper displays  for delivering real-time information to transport users - Papercast; as well as REFLEX - a bus optimization software solution that improves service regularity and punctuality by computing real-time control measures for the entire fleet. Realizing that safety and security is most important for passengers and public transport organisations, NEC will also be introducing a facial recognition solution for passenger safety.
