Telecom Modus was established in 1998 as a joint venture between NEC and ERA Technology. It became a wholly-owned subsidiary of NEC in 2008, and the company name was changed to NEC Telecom MODUS Ltd. in 2010. NTML has contributed design IP to all generations of 3GPP equipment.
